It is graced with tranquil beaches and miles of quiet, country roads ideal for walking and biking. Beautiful views of San Juan Islands, Baker Mountain and the tail leading up to it offers a spectacular west-facing view across of Rosario Strait.
Heritage Trust Resource Center - Center is located at the Otto Preserve, 3560 Sunrise Road, Lummi Island, WA 98262. Browse the reference library about ecology, conservation, plants, wildlife and island history.
View island maps showing topography, geology and Heritage Trust protected lands. Hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
The Baker Preserve - A trail map is posted in the kiosk. This is a vigorous hike up a steep, winding trail. The hike is 1.64 miles to an overlook with views of the San Juan Islands. Take Seacrest Drive, about 1/3 mile south of the Sunrise Road intersection, on right.
The Otto Preserve - A trail map is posted in the kiosk. The main Loop Trail is a lovely walk through mature forest and is well protected in light rains due to many sheltering trees. The Loop Trail, together with the Baumgart Woods and Walden Walk side trails, are an easy 1.4 mile walk.
Most beaches are for the most part, privately owned on Lummi Island. County & Church Beach are available for public use.
County Beach is across the street from The Beach Store Cafe near ferry dock on east side of the island. At the viewing platform, follow the stairs to the beach for a breathtaking view of Mt Baker.

Outer Island Expeditions offers a tour around the San Juan Islands for the opportunity to see Orca whales, seals, bald eagles, and other animals that make their home in the Northwest.

Sister's Gifts & Art Gallery located next to the Island Store offers painting, drawings, prints, pottery, jewelry, photography, glass, herbal products, stonework, sculptures, baskets, note cards and more. Open year-round.
Three times a year the Lummi Island Artists Studio Tour provides a venue to meet and visit the island's artists in their studios on Memorial Day, Labor Day and the third weekend in November.
The island hosts a summer farmer's market, open Saturday mornings from May through September and within walking distance of the ferry. Hours 10am - 1pm.
The market features island organic produce and vegetables, food, and arts & crafts vendors.

Don't forget to stop by the local market to pick up your favorite foods and beverages before you arrive at the ferry dock.
